The Museum of National Folk Architecture and Rural Life in Lviv named after Klymentii Sheptytskyi in Lviv is one of the largest open-air museums in Europe. Widely known not only to Lviv’s residents but also to its guests as Shevchenkivskyj Gaj, the museum is rich in the monuments of wooden architecture, interiors and household items of our ancestors. After all, the buildings embody the culture and traditions of the people of different epochs and convey their spirit even through the years.

It is next to the main alley, which leads to the entrance to the museum territory, where the designed administrative building will be located. This is why the crucial question in creating the idea was its successful integration into the existing environment and ensuring a comfortable and safe space for future staff.

The authors of the concept, architects Igor and Marta Zimbrovsky from Lviv, successfully did this task. In addition, COMFORTBUD Design Institute, which won the design tender, developed all the necessary project documentation.

The modern world requires modern approaches to construction. The frame, columns and walls of the building will be made of reinforced concrete – this will ensure the reliability of the structure and make its facades more modern. According to the architects’ idea, the important element of the decoration will be the glass. In addition, the main feature of the building will be the roof made with the use of “green” technologies. This approach will also have operational advantages: the roof will be insulator, it will absorb carbon dioxide and it will reduce the noise level in the rooms.

An administrative building will be located on the first floor. Spacious corridors will provide comfortable movement of employees. All offices will be light and maximally open: doors and partitions will be made of safety glass, and large panoramic windows, which occupy most of the facades, will provide the offices with natural light.

Moreover, employees will be able to carry out their activity in quietness and comfort because the rooms will have excellent sound insulation. On the lower level will be provided sanitary facilities for the technical staff of the museum, inventory rooms, technical archive and other support facilities. The building will also be fully adapted for the needs of inclusion – the project includes unhindered access for people with disabilities. Another “highlight” of the project will be a cozy courtyard equipped for the recreation of museum staff.

Preservation of cultural heritage is very important to understand our traditions and history.

We as a socially responsible company are aware of the importance and significance of the great work done by museum professionals to preserve the national cultural heritage for both present and future generations. We are very pleased that our participation in such projects gives us an opportunity to join in creating comfortable and convenient conditions for museum employees.
